T he Centre for Environment Education(CEE) was established in August 1984 as a Centre for Excellence supported by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, and affiliated to the Nehru Foundation for Development(NFD).CEE, a national institution with it's headquarters in Ahmedabad, has a mandate to promote environmental awareness nationwide and to improve understanding of environmental issues. CEE mainly focuses on the following areas-Education, Training, Media, Interpretation, Ecodevelopment, Urban Issues, Information Servicing, Networking, Education. As an institution committed to creating awareness leading to a better environment and a better quality of life, CEE has undertaken demonstration projects in education, communication and development which endorse attitudes, strategies and technologies that are environmentally sustainable.
