CYWEN periodically conducts various events such as quiz aimed at youth,puppet shows,exhibitions,games and slide shows.Also, occasionally we have fairs which include all of the above events and our main fairs have been the'Garbage Mela' and the 'Urja(energy) Mela'.

FILM APPRECIATION

One of CYWEN's recently introduced activities is film appreciation, wherein we try to analyse & understand films as a means of communication. We view and critique both,mainstream and parallel cinema in presence of a facilatator. Our final aim is to incorporate our observations into our communication skills and media development.

THE CULTURAL TRAIL

The Cultural Trail conducted by CEE is an attempt to make us more aware of our rich heritage.There are two trails-'Ahmedshahi Ahmedabad' and 'Havelis and Pols of Ahmedabad'.Both are conducted on foot.

'Ahmedshahi Ahmedabad' takes us through the walled city and explains the significane of various historical monuments and points out the nuances in their architecture.

In 'Havelis and Pols', the houses of the rich mercantile community-locally known as 'havelis' and the community residences known as 'pols' are visited.

NEWSLETTER

We publish our newsletter on a quarterly basis.Our target audience includes school & college going youth, other groups with similar concerns, government and non-government organisations,environmental agencies, media organisations & the like.

URBAN FOREST IN MANEKBAUG PLOT

CYWEN is helping CEE develop an urban forest in a 8500 sq.m plot in the Manekbaug society of Ahmedabad.CYWEN members participate in seed plantations & weeding. CYWEN has been especially involved in the peripheral plantation & in developing the nursery.Also,CYWEN has conducted gardening workshops in Manekbaug society in an effort to involve the community in the development of this green area.
